World Map Theme: Auto, Dark & Light
The 2D world map now supports three theme modes — giving you full control over how the map looks, no matter where you are or what time it is.

| Auto | Day/night cycle based on your local time. The map shifts through dawn, day, dusk, and night automatically. |
| Dark | Always dark — the classic Erleuchtung look. No automatic changes. |
| Light | Always light — bright oceans and countries for daytime visibility. |
How It Works
- Auto mode reads your device’s local clock. Between 22:00–05:00 the map enters night mode; 05:00–08:00 shows dawn colors; 18:00–22:00 brings dusk tones. During the day, the map stays in its default dark-ocean palette with subtle seasonal tints.
- Dark and Light modes are fixed — the map will never shift colors on its own. Your choice is respected.
How to Change It
Open Settings → World Map → Theme, pick your preferred mode, and hit Save. The map updates instantly — no page reload needed.
Why We Added This
Previously, the map only had Dark and Light options, but the day/night cycle would still override your choice — leading to a confusing “half and half” appearance. Now each mode is clean and predictable:
- Want the map to match your real-world time of day? Use Auto.
- Prefer the classic dark look always? Use Dark.
- Need a bright map for daytime play? Use Light.
The choice is yours.
