Ambassador Handbook — Step by Step

This is the complete guide for ambassadors in ENLIGHTENMENT. If you have been elected as an ambassador for your country, this page tells you exactly what to do — step by step, from nomination to verification.

What Is an Ambassador?

An ambassador is a trusted player who verifies the identity of other players. When a player wants to reach the next level, they need one or more ambassadors to confirm their identity in a Jitsi video call. As an ambassador, you are the gateway to higher levels for players in your country.

There are two types of ambassadors:

🗳️ Elected Ambassadors

Chosen by the community through the Trust Points system. Each country can have up to 9 elected ambassadors per month. Elected ambassadors can only verify players from their own country who are at their level or below.

⭐ Golden Ambassadors

Appointed by system administrators. Golden Ambassadors can verify any player in any country at any level. They can also vouch for ECO ID certificates.

How to Become an Ambassador

1 Set Your Home Country

Make sure your home country is set in your profile. You can only be elected as an ambassador for your home country.

2 Nominate Yourself

Open the Trust panel (🏛️ button in the sidebar) and click “Nominate as Ambassador”. Your nomination is now active for the next monthly election.

3 Earn Trust Points

Other players in your country can give you their Trust Points. Each player has 10 trust points per month. The more points you receive, the higher your ranking.

4 Monthly Election

On the first day of each month, the system elects the top 9 candidates per country as ambassadors. If there is a tie at rank 9, the system enforces a hard cap of 9.

5 You Are an Ambassador

If elected, you see an ambassador badge in your Trust panel. You can now verify players. Your term lasts for the entire month.

How to Verify a Player — Step by Step

This is the most important part of being an ambassador. Follow these steps carefully.

1 You Receive a Notification

When a player requests verification, you receive a real-time notification (SSE) and an email. The notification tells you the player’s name, level, and language.

2 Open the Trust Panel

Click the 🏛️ Trust button in the sidebar. Scroll down to “Pending Verification Requests”. You will see a list of players waiting for verification.

3 Check the Player’s Language

Each request shows the player’s language with a 🌐 icon. Only accept the request if you can communicate with the player in a shared language. If you cannot communicate, leave the request for another ambassador.

4 Join the Jitsi Call

Click the “Join →” button next to the player’s name. This opens a Jitsi video room with JWT authentication. The player receives a real-time notification that you are waiting.

The Approve and Reject buttons are disabled at this point. They will only become active after you have been in the call for 6 minutes.

5 Verify the Player’s Identity

During the Jitsi call, you must verify the player’s identity:

  • Selfie — Ask the player to show their face clearly
  • ID Document — Ask the player to hold their official ID document (passport, national ID, driver’s license) next to their face
  • Liveness Check — Ask the player to blink, turn their head left and right, and smile
  • Questions — Ask the player a few questions about the game to confirm they are a real player

⚠️ Take your time. The 6-minute minimum exists to prevent rushed verifications.

6 Approve or Reject

After the 6-minute timer expires, the buttons become active:

To approve:

  • Click ✓ Approve
  • A confirmation overlay appears with a 10-second countdown
  • The “Yes, approve” button is disabled for 10 seconds — you cannot click it accidentally
  • After the countdown, the button turns green and you can click it
  • The verification is marked as approved

To reject:

  • Click ✗ Reject
  • A confirmation overlay appears
  • Enter a rejection reason (required)
  • Click “Yes, reject”
  • The verification is marked as rejected

7 Player Levels Up

When the player has received enough approvals from different ambassadors, they can level up. You have helped them take the next step in their journey.

💰 Your Reward

You receive 0.005 CC (≈ 5 €) for each successful verification. The reward is transferred to your CC wallet automatically.

Rules You Must Follow

❌ What You Must NOT Do

  • Do not verify another ambassador. Elected ambassadors cannot verify other ambassadors. Only Golden Ambassadors and System Admins can verify ambassadors.
  • Do not verify the same player twice. Each ambassador can verify a given player only once — for life, across all levels. For Level 9 (7 verifications needed), the player must get 7 different ambassadors.
  • Do not verify a player without a real Jitsi call. Always meet the player in a video call and check their ID.
  • Do not verify a player you cannot communicate with. If you don’t share a language, leave the request for another ambassador.
  • Do not rush. The 6-minute timer and 10-second countdown exist to prevent accidental approvals. Use the time to verify properly.
  • Do not verify friends or family without proper checks. Treat every player the same — ID document, selfie, liveness check.

✅ What You Must Do

  • Check the player’s official ID document against their live face
  • Perform liveness checks (blinking, head turning)
  • Ask questions to confirm the player is real
  • Take at least 6 minutes for the verification
  • Wait the 10-second countdown before confirming
  • Reject if anything seems wrong — a rejection is better than a false approval

Can Ambassadors Level Up?

Yes, but with a restriction:

  • You cannot request a level-up verification while you are an active ambassador.
  • To level up, you must first withdraw your nomination (Trust panel → “Withdraw Nomination”)
  • Then request verification and get verified by other ambassadors
  • After your verification is complete, you can re-nominate yourself for the next election

This rule prevents verification rings where ambassadors verify each other just to collect rewards.

Self-Verification (Bootstrap)

If you are the only ambassador in your country, you can verify yourself once for the Level 1 → Level 2 transition only. This is called the Self-Verification Bootstrap.

Self-verification is strictly limited to Level 1 → Level 2. It cannot be used for any higher level. From Level 2 onward, every verification must come from a different ambassador.

Ambassador Availability

You can toggle your Jitsi availability in the sidebar. When you are available, players can see that you are ready to take verification calls. When you are not available, you will still receive notifications but players won’t see you as “online” in the directory.

Monthly Election Cycle

  • Election day: 1st of each month (UTC)
  • Term: The entire month
  • Trust points: 10 fresh points per month — use them or lose them
  • Max ambassadors per country: 9

FAQ

What happens if I approve a player by mistake? The confirmation overlay with the 10-second countdown is designed to prevent this. If it still happens, contact a Golden Ambassador or System Admin — they can revert the verification.

Can I verify a player from another country? Only Golden Ambassadors can verify players from any country. Elected ambassadors can only verify players from their own country.

Can I verify a player at a higher level than me? No. Elected ambassadors can only verify players at their level or below. Golden Ambassadors have no level restriction.

What if my country has no ambassadors? Nominate yourself, ask other players to give you their trust points, and you will be elected at the next monthly election. Once you are an ambassador, you can verify others.

Do I lose my ambassador status if I level up? No — but you must withdraw your nomination to request a level-up verification. After leveling up, you can re-nominate. Your existing ambassador term is not affected by leveling up.
